Eaton Corporation Equipment Operator in Airdrie, Alberta
Eaton is looking for an Equipment Operator for his Airdrie plant.
- Primary Function:*
The primary purpose of this position is responsible to operate, maintain, and trouble shoot the large fabrication machines (punch and bend) and will be required to multi-task between activities to maximize efficiency in material flow. In addition, to maintain a flexible workforce, this position may include cross training and providing support in other areas of fabrication including production welding, spot welding, production painting etc.
- Essential Functions:*
Mark orders as started or completed in our production interface software
Set up programs and operate large fabrication machines (punch and bend) for specific parts.
Review dimensions and verify accuracy of material provided.
Inspect and verify finished part to drawing specification.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on fabrication machines to ensure long term integrity of the machines
Move raw materials from warehouse to work stations, as required.
Advise designers and programmers on new or original products (AMO), as required.
Take an active leadership role and mentor/train less experienced fabrication operators, as required.
Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton’s Philosophy and Values, as well as Safety and Environmental standards.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Grade 12 or equivalent level of education from an accredited institution.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication (large punch and bend machines), including experience with maintenance/trouble shooting of large fabrication machines.
Knowledge/experience reading sheet metal drawings.
Every candidates need to be located within a 80 km range from our location in Airdrie.

Direct experience with FINN, Amada, EHRT, and Prima Power punches and brakes.
Direct experience with machine interface software and programming.
Prior experience with control centers.
Knowledge & Skills*
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team with minimal supervision.
