National Bank Financial Group Senior IT Desktop Analyst - Financial Market/ Trading Floor in Alberta
Title: Senior IT Desktop Analyst - Financial Market/ Trading Floor Location: AB
This position reports to the Section Manager of the Specialized IT Desktop Support team – Financial Market.
As a Senior Desktop Analyst, you will offer advanced technical support to the supported users based upon your knowledge of Information Technology. You will participate in various complex analyses, identify discrepancies and formulate recommendations to optimize systems efficiency and solve major / minor problems.
You will provide technical support and services to Financial Markets and Trading users, analyze and understand their needs in order to foster the growth of the various sectors based on business objectives. You will help solve simple and complex IT problems. In addition, you will help other groups with various complex analyses in order to support the development or modification of computer systems and ensure their efficiency.
Specifically, you will:
Act as the on-site focal point for all IT problems experienced by the clients in the Calgary branch,
Provide Level 2 Desktop IT support to the clients,
Work with other IT teams to resolve issues and implement new technologies,
Log all incidents into a ticketing system, including a description of the problem and the implemented solution,
Propose optimization solutions to better support the clients,
Do follow-ups with the users and business partners to confirm that their needs have been met and to formulate recommendations that can optimize processes / procedures,
Participate in the improvement, updating and implementation of the IT politics, procedures and standards and make sure they are respected,
Maintain documentation for all systems, both procedure reports and intervention logs,
Help with analyses for major information technology projects and participate on various activities within these projects,
Implement computer systems and modify existing applications based on users' needs and business requirements,
See to the smooth running and maintenance of applications and systems, in cooperation with contractors,
Ensure the integrity of computerized data and the stability of systems.
Three-year College diploma or academic equivalent in a related field, and seven years of relevant experience,
Experience supporting a large organization (600 computers),
Experience with Active Directory, Exchange, SCCM,
Experience supporting Financial Markets / Trading departments is a plus,
Experience supporting trading applications (Bloomberg, Reuters, Thomson Products, other…) is a plus,
Experience with Microsoft Windows XP, 7 et 8.1 et MS Office 2010 2013,
Ability to work in a stressful environment,
Must be able to work as part of a team and also independently,
Excellent communication skills, customer skills and interpersonal skills are a must,
Excellent ability to prioritize calls depending on severity / strong sense of urgency is a must,
Having worked in server rooms, telecom rooms, patch panels, network switches is good to have,
Bilingualism both spoken and written (English and French).
