Telus Fleet Manager in BC, Canada

This role resides within our Fleet team and the successful candidate will take on National Safety Code primeship for TELUS and focus on selecting and implementing automated tools for NSC with long term goal of implementing into workflow to have proactive adherence to compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Focus of the role for initial 18-24 months will be National Safety Code compliance-selecting and implementing automated tools into the driver processes

  • Manage the life cycle & associated costs of TELUS Corporate vehicles including maintenance/repairs etc

  • Liaise with internal user groups working to meet their vehicle needs

  • Source, locate & select vendors and monitor quality

  • Distribute metrics, develop, measure & report regularly

  • Plan & schedule all training for fleet team members & vehicle users in safety and job specific requirements

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of National Safety Code for Canada, external training will be provided for basic knowledge, audit requirements

  • Written communication skills & experience with computer programs e.g. MS Office: Intermediate

  • Knowledge & understanding of the TELUS vehicle regulations & national safety code: Intermediate

  • Ability to manage large capital & operating expenditures: Intermediate

  • Experience with auditing, reporting and data management: Intermediate

  • Mechanical aptitude & working experience: Intermediate

  • Knowledge & ability to follow SOX compliancy requirements

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to evaluate different options and tools for implementation

  • Ability to lead virtual teams and develop requirements

  • Ability to read technical NSC documents and develop internal TELUS requirements

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

  • University degree

Required Experience:

  • 3-5 years of Fleet experience

  • Understanding of TELUS processes is a benefit
