Telus Senior Business Analyst Maternity contract in BC, Canada
The Customer Solutions Delivery (CSD) Strategy and Transformation team is looking for dynamic, enthusiastic, driven, and bright individuals with a proven track-record of delivery. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a key role executing and delivering complex, transformational projects in CSD. You have a proven ability to collaborate across business units and with key stakeholders to roadmap, develop, and execute on initiatives with high complexity and/or business impact. The ability to lead strategies through the creation of solution alternatives, assessments, planning and analysis is key to the success of the individual in this role. You demonstrate a high degree of autonomy and can develop strong partnerships with both internal and external business leaders to deliver on your objectives. You are able to use your skills and experience to mentor and develop fellow team members, ensuring their success is your success.
Who is Customer Solutions Delivery?
Customer Solutions Delivery (CSD) is responsible for providing service delivery for our consumer customers while designing, maintaining and upgrading our wireline network. With over 2,500 team members and 2,000 partners across Canada, the CSD team is working in our communities, on the road, on-site and behind the scenes, to make sure our customers have the services they need when they need them.
Who is CSD Strategy and Transformation?
The CSD Strategy and Transformation team acts as a consultant workforce to execute and deliver transformative projects with direct correlation to CSD and TELUS organizational performance objectives. The team is comprised of experienced analysts, consultants, and recent graduates who exemplify the TELUS values and are looking for an exciting and challenging opportunity on an accomplishment driven team. As a member of this team, you will solve complex business problems, leverage and grow your consultant skillset, and contribute to an amazing team culture. You will work with business and technical professionals in the end-to-end planning and delivery of large scale projects that drive CSD’s Customer First and Profitable Growth and Efficiency performance. From idea conception and business case development through to final delivery and business benefit realization, you will have the opportunity to support and/or lead the overall success of various highly visible projects.
You are an energetic and dynamic professional, with strong business analysis and communication skills, and are comfortable collaborating with team members of varying seniority from individual contributors through to senior leadership. You will work amongst a team of business and technical professionals to ensure success in the following:
A. Business Operator
Leverage your analytical skillset to measure and analyze the key performance indicators and operational metrics of various CSD organizations and processes to deliver insight into CSD’s strategic, operational, and financial performance
Leverage your keen business acumen to assess, develop, and recommend business cases that help drive CSD’s profitability and growth measures while also enhancing customer experience along the way
Optimize CSD’s processes, costs, and service by (1) identifying root-causes behind CSD’s successes and challenges, and (2) proposing solutions and/or actions to address root-cause issues and improve performance
Develop, implement, and evolve performance analysis and reporting systems in partnership with various stakeholders, vendors, and other TELUS teams
B. Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure their performance management and business analysis needs are understood and supported
Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize their business requirements
Execute formal projects and ad-hoc efforts to deliver the information required to guide business decisions
Communicate relevant progress and achievements to stakeholders on a regular basis to manage expectations
C. Project Execution and Team Member Development
Provide consultation and lead the development and implementation of process changes including: Requirements definition, business case development; risk assessment/mitigation; stakeholder update presentations; change management
Develop and manage project plans and track progress against delivery roadmaps and project success measures
Produce and review key deliverables to ensure high levels of quality
Passionate in leading, mentoring, developing, and recognizing the business and technical team members engaged on your projects
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and analytical skills with high attention to detail
Demonstrates thought leadership, critical thinking, creative problem solving and willingness to ensure results
Demonstrates ability to inform and influence all levels of management/stakeholders through superior consultancy skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
Foundational understanding of project management lifecycle, practices and methodologies
Highly motivated, creative, self-sufficient with ability to work successfully under pressure
Knowledge of CSD’s metrics, work processes, and key success measures is a strong asset
Knowledge of telecommunications industry and its business and operational key performance indicators is an asset
Knowledge of relational databases is desired but not essential
Required Professional Designation/Certification:
- Post-Secondary education in business, marketing, IT or equivalent experience
Minimum 4-5 years of experience in business analysis, project delivery, and/or management consulting
Stakeholder management experience
Experience developing and implementing business improvement solutions
