As Sourcing and Supplier Development Junior Buyer
The Sourcing and Supplier Development Buyer position is evolving to play a more strategic role in managing the Marketing Communications Objectives via our Suppliers for Canada. This means aligning and managing our Suppliers to deliver Brand Objectives via strategic understanding of the Brands themselves. The Buyer will develop a new sourcing model for aligning common objectives, strategy and KPIs across brands. He will encourage and motivate agencies to collaborate on shared objectives based on Brand needs. He will find synergies across brands to capitalize on working "conditions" optimization for Suppliers. Apart from, he will also build a collaborative 360 degree work process on Sourcing Solutions with the marketing team in Danone Canada dairy division.
Procurement needs analysis, Market knowledge & Negotiation:
Manage projects marketing purchases and sales, to improve the quality, cost and time to market of services purchased.
Analyze the current need, practical purchases, the provider market, the request in collaboration with departments and clients.
Negotiate agreements, set up contracts and specifications together with legal ensuring the implementation of the contract.
Ensure a good supplier relationship.
Proactively investigates new areas of purchasing implication through:
International networking with other in marketing, sales and purchase department in the Danone Group.
Data analysis (SAP spending figures)
Discussions with the client departments
Identify New sourcing models
Tracks productivity on each project by regularly updating the Marketing & Sales reporting charts
Following the savings calculation rules issued by the Danone Group Marketing & Sales Purchasing.
Market intelligence & Toolkits:
Push further the analysis using the Group purchasing methodology on selected markets (need analysis, market analysis, cost model, cost driver analysis, SWOT, strategy and action plan).
Provide market intelligence and recommendations to its client departments.
Propose, present and obtain buy-in for his budget assumptions in these markets.
Brand Strategy and Brand Growth
Understanding of annual brand objectives
Play a role of agency briefings
Continuous engagement with the Supplier
Adjust and negotiate remuneration schemes based on A&P spend, Supplier performance and investment levels
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and competencies:
A Bachelor degree complete of Science in Commerce or closely related field.
At least 3 to 5 years of work experience in purchasing for a major organization (e.g. multinational company).
Strong analytical skills and pragmatism.
Bilingual (French and English).
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work in cross-functional teams effectively.
Strong leadership and proactivity.
Willing to travel at least at less than 20% (international mobility).
Understanding of marketing services/agencies including: Creative, Media, PR, Promotional, Web Design. (an asset).
Have experience in Indirect and/or marketing related markets ("categories").
