The Associate Project Manager will bring a consumer new product initiative or changes to existing products to the Canada market, via managing the cross functional aspects, timelines, and Start of Ship (SOS) deliverables. He / She will lead projects from initiation (charter) through Start of Ship (SOS) and close out, employing a stage gate process and will lead cross-functional teams (interaction with marketing, sales, R&D, finance, supply chain and others as needed).

Works closely with Supply Chain Lead partners in the US based teams via import of products from the US Clorox businesses.

The incumbent:

  • Delivers complex and value creating projects (time constrained, category complexity, share gaining) for new products and/or significant cost savings.

  • Organizes the cross-functional activities to ensure completion of the project/product on schedule on budget and within charter constraints.

  • Ensures the development of risks & contingency plans.

  • Implements contingencies as needed.

  • Challenges team assumptions for clarity and congruency.

  • Pushes category leadership teams to make key decisions timely.

  • Is considered a key business partner and leader by neighborhood stakeholders.

  • Role requires the ability to operate in a virtual team environment with cross functional members in different time-zones and locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support top-line, margin, and/or share growth by leading challenging and new product initiatives (imports from US, rapid responses, cost savings projects)

  • Develop and maintain a high performing organization of enthusiastic owners through active listening, challenging, direction setting, coaching, and execution.

  • Decision making and team influence through data analysis, facts, and critical assessment

  • Proactively drive process and stage gate steps, explicitly declare breakdowns and achieve related goals for those areas of responsibility

  • Work on system activities, set up, resource planning (PPM)

Candidate Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years leading Supply Chain / Product Supply commercialization projects

  • Strong business and project leadership skills, assertive and diplomatic, self-directing, able to manage up and down the organization without authority, willing to hold others accountable.

  • Excellent communication and listening skills.

  • Bachelor's degree required (engineering/technical degree preferred), MBA preferred

  • Broad industry experience with a preference for Consumer Packaged Goods

Desired Qualifications:

  • A Broad Functional knowledge (Legal, Regulatory, Manufacturing, R&D, Finance and Accounting, and Marketing).

  • Knowledgeable in stage gate process and Project management practices (a certified, professional project manager is desired)
