Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will work in an environment that promotes respect and leadership. This position is located in West-Vancouver.

Your main challenges

  • Assist the Investment Advisor with administrative tasks related to managing client accounts and business development

  • Offer unparalleled customer service

  • Open and update client files

  • Carry out unsolicited transactions, as well as the purchase and sale of securities and transaction adjustments, as applicable

  • Analyze client accounts and participate in activities related to the development of the advisors’ business by creating prospecting lists, as needed

  • Closely monitor day-to-day transactions

  • Act as a resource person for clients regarding the firm's products, procedures and policies

Specifically, you will:

  • With the other Investment associate in the team, carries out administrative tasks such as sending cheques to clients, making bank deposits, transferring funds, making RSP and RIF contributions and withdrawals, and following up on incoming and outgoing transfers and overdrafts

  • Acts as the administrative link between the various operational departments to respond to clients' requests

  • Prepares the file necessary to open accounts. Ensures client file up to date within the time periods prescribed by law. This involves identifying the client and determining which forms must be completed depending on the type of account and client

  • Assists the Investment Advisors (3) with business development by speaking with the clients

  • Provides quotations, takes orders (unsolicited trades), processes the purchase and sale of stocks (block of stocks) and adjusts trades (cancellations and corrections)

  • Extracts information from systems, and, in response to clients' requests for information, prepares and sends tables, memos, letters and documents including reports on capital gains and losses in portfolios, the handling of cash and stock trades

  • College or University degree with minimum two years experience in the brokerage or banking industry would be a great asset

  • Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course and Conduct and Business Practices Handbook Course

  • Experience in an administrative support position

  • Thorough knowledge of cash management, account transfers, account administration, product management, end of year processing, estate settlement, would be a great asset

  • Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Flexible, adaptable and must be able to work under pressure; Able to prioritize work flows

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and show initiative and exemplify a positive attitude

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability to offer fast and efficient service to clientele

  • Exceptional English oral and written communication skills; French knowledge is an asset
