Cenovus Energy Contract- Frontline Field Supervisor - Civil Earthworks in Brooks, Alberta

The Cenovus Well Delivery Team is currently looking for a Frontline Field Supervisor, to provide earthworks support to various assets including, safety, planning, regulatory, environmental, budgets, schedules and acting as the single point of contact for the customer. In this contract role, the successful candidates will be representing Cenovus Energy Inc. as the frontline supervisor. Your primary responsibility will be to provide professional leadership and guidance to contractors while maintaining and ensuring high standards for safety as well as regulatory and environmental compliance and productivity of crews at the worksite.
You will be required to maintain the highest standards in regards to safety, environmental regulations, quality and professionalism throughout the course of earthworks activities. The Frontline Field Supervisor will hold team members accountable for their results creating a positive working environment involving trust, honesty, and respect while following Cenovus Policies.
This is a contract position, supporting our operations in various locations throughout Southern Alberta. Contractors must provide their own transportation to various locations.
Facilitate a safe work culture
Accountable for the safety of all workers on site
Proven background in a leadership role directing other employees/subcontractors
Ensure Cenovus safety practices/standards as well as industry recommended practices/standards are met or exceeded
Demonstrated ability in the building of ice roads and winter earth works construction practices
Collaborate with Earthworks Advisors, to execute construction programs and ensure that the crew’s daily activities are aligned to meet the objectives of the program in an efficient manner
Responsible for daily budget, schedule and data management, all the while controlling scope changes
Accountable for execution and ensuring that activities efficiently align to meet the objectives of the program
Maintain a high standard of quality control and strive for improving process
As the Cenovus representative you will work closely with local stakeholders, building on existing relationships
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Must have 5 or more years of technically strong background in the Civil Earthworks field
Must have good knowledge of Alberta regulations, codes and standards of practice related to the Oil & Gas industry
Civil Construction experience preferred in relation to survey, scouting, estimating, scheduling, construction in various ground conditions, borrow pit management, logging
TDG, H2S Alive, WHMIS, Ground Disturbance Level 2, and First Aid with CPR
Experience with Siteview software is preferred
Strong computer skills, working knowledge in Microsoft Office products
Experience with soft ground (muskeg) and Oil Sands Evaluation construction
Communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and also collaboratively in a multi-discipline team environment
Training and/or experience with local stakeholders
Excellent organizational/planning skills
The following designations are considered an asset: PMP, CET, NCSO, RPF
