Morrison Hershfield's Building Science Group provides planning, design and construction administration services for a vast array of building types and uses. We are currently seeking a Building Science EIT to complement our Building Sciences team. This individual will play an active role in the delivery of building condition assessment/evaluations, air barrier consulting, project management, renewal planning, etc. Due to expanding business opportunities in Burlington and elsewhere within the company, this position offers significant potential for growth in the areas of technical / professional development and project management.

  • ​Prepares straightforward plans, designs, calculations, analyses in accordance with established codes, standards, drawings and other specifications.

  • Building envelope design and condition assessments for clients with both high-rise and low-rise buildings.

  • Testing procedures and long term monitoring and development of remedial measures to correct building performance problems including a strong emphasis on the interaction of the building and mechanical systems.

  • Assists to interpret results using relevant software applications.

  • Analysis and interpretation of heat, air and moisture flow through building envelope systems.

  • Prepares/assists to prepare engineering documents, schedules or reports, as assigned.

  • Conducting preliminary studies required to formulate, determine and evaluate design criteria for engineering work.

  • Liaising with clients, contractors and authorities.

  • Perform other duties associated with working in a professional engineering environment.

  • Duties will be carried out in an office and field environment.

  • ​​Degree or Diploma in Architectural, Civil/Mechanical Engineering or Related Discipline from an accredited institution.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a strong customer service commitment.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, EXCEL, Access, PowerPoint) is critical.

  • Experience with AutoCAD an asset.

  • Construction review experience a plus.
