Morrison Hershfield's Building Science Group provides planning, design and construction administration services for a vast array of building types and uses. We are currently seeking a Building Science Engineer/Architect to complement our Building Sciences team in the Burlington Office to play a lead role in the delivery of building condition assessment/evaluations, air barrier consulting, project management, renewal planning etc...   • Conducts engineering/architecture/planning options comparisons by undertaking multi-factor assessments to select preferred cost-effective alternatives.

  • Prepares contract drawings and specifications in conjunction with the project team for delivery to the client.

  • Documents study progress/results through the preparation of memos, minutes and reports as a record of events.

  • Provides direction to project team members, supports staff through verbal and written instructions and assist Team Leader in assigning work to appropriate individuals.

  • Liaises with clients to exchange information regarding project progress.

  • Provides technical judgment.

  • Conducts business development activities to secure new projects via client liaison and proposal preparation.

  • Prepares site visit reports by interpreting findings to give clear recommendations and direction to clients.

  • Reviews shop drawings and design details by analyzing for continuity and viability.

  • Certifies professional work.

  • ​​Bachelor's degree or technical college diploma in Mechanical or Structural Engineering or Architecture.

  • 3-5 years' experience in the building science industry performing building envelope investigations, building condition audits, new and rehabilitation design and facility property management consulting.

  • Understanding of sustainability as it applies to the built environment.

  • Ability to work with a team of professionals, liaise with clients, contractors and municipal authorities.

  • Integrated Design Process Experience is considered an asset.

  • Interest in business development/sales and project management an asset.
