Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure currently has a senior leadership opportunity as Infrastructure Manager for Ontario. Amec Foster Wheeler is a global leader and focused supplier of high-value consultancy, engineering and project management services to the world's environment and infrastructure markets.

Key Responsibilities

The role holds overall responsibility for the growth, management and quality control of the Infrastructure group and engineering services primarily situated in Burlington Ontario, with satellite staff located in London, Cambridge, Mississauga, Markham and Ottawa. The infrastructure group consists of all aspects of infrastructure engineering design including highways and bridges, transportation and railway services, water / wastewater and process engineering, water resources and land development.

As the Ontario Infrastructure Manager, you will:

  • Lead the operation of the office as responsible the profit and loss (P&L) performance of the infrastructure business

  • Take responsibility for office financial performance, client satisfaction, staff deployment and development, resource management and office business development activities

  • Establish annual business goals and strategies and prepare annual business strategic plans for the infrastructure business

  • Serve as a visionary leader for approximately 130 engineers and consultants

  • Ensure financial controls, quality assurance / quality control and compliance to Company policies

  • Lead and foster a strong health and safety culture

  • Direct and participate in marketing efforts to expand business in Ontario

  • Foster a team environment and develop staff through mentoring, leadership and training;

  • Demonstrate an enthusiasm to develop client and strategic teaming relationships through regular personal contact

  • Direct office recruitment and staffing needs and manage Loss Prevention / Risk Management issues for the office

  • Be self-directed, motivated and accountable while acting with a sense of urgency to meet monthly financial target

  • Degree in Engineering, Science or Business

  • Professional Certification / Registration desired

  • Minimum 12 year experience in the infrastructure business with experience in project and business management (at least 8 years as Project Manager)

  • Strong technical experience, strong project management experience and good client relationships

  • Managed a profit center with a minimum $10 million annual gross revenue

  • Understands federal, provincial, commercial and municipal markets with demonstrated skill in marketing and proposal development

  • Proven supervisory skills and a leadership style that promotes participatory management technique teamwork, innovation and results

  • Fluent in English with strong oral and written communication skills
