Our team of highly talented engineers work closely with multiple game teams across many genres. Together, we develop a scalable multi-platform subscription service to engage existing and new gamers.
We are looking for a Software Engineer to provide technical expertise to a team of amazingly talented engineers, to help drive innovation in our online game distribution and subscription services across PC, console, Mac and mobile devices though offerings including Origin, EA Access and more.
In this role, you will work closely with a talented group of engineers with similar skills. You will be delivering new features and supporting development in other areas of our products. You will collaborate with other EAX scrum teams to co-ordinate feature delivery, manage dependencies and risks. You will work closely with the Technical Lead and other technology leaders to both contribute and adhere to technical standards and direction.
Problems we need to solve:
How do we unify different integration code bases with the CMS?
How do we streamline the CMS functionality while maintaining the system’s efficiency?
How do we evolve our experimentation framework to allow us to create the optimal player experience?
Deliver product enhancements and support Participate in best practices and various testing standards, including peer reviews
Collaborate with feature scrum teams and central technology teams across EAX to improve workflows on currently used products and those on the product roadmap
Oversee and plan the maturity of various applications into a regular delivery pipeline with a focus on test coverage, continuous integration, and application health metrics
Assist with engineering efficiency by upholding code quality while mitigating technical risk
Promote sustainable software development with the tools, technical processes, and best practices needed to develop in an agile and efficient way
What you bring to the role:
5+ years, with experience working on large-scale web media-based solutions
BS/ MS degree in Computer Science or related field
The ability to participate in technical conversations with other Product and Business staff, in addition to Engineering and Support/Operations teams
An aptitude for conveying highly technical concepts and information in written form to technical and non-technical audiences
The ability to juggle multiple concurrent projects is essential. Strong self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision
An energetic, team-oriented attitude
A proven history of bringing results and meeting deadlines, with a keen focus on quality
Java/J2EE/JSP expertise - minimum 3 years’ experience developing large multi-tier system applications
Experience with dependency management, build & release and automation tools (Maven/Ivy, Jenkins/Bamboo, Chef/Puppet)
Nice to have:
AEM 6 Architect Certification and/or Experience with AEM v6.x Touch UI
Client-facing communication skills
Deep domain knowledge of: JCR/Oak, Apache Sling, Apache Felix, OSGi, REST, High Availability architecture
