Canlan Ice Sports - Burnaby 8-Rinks Canlan Ice Sports Burnaby 8 Rinks is currently looking for a Public Programs CoordinatorOVERALL OBJECTIVE:Under the direction of the Programs Manager, the Public Program Coordinator is responsible for the direction of specified community events and programs, including sales, marketing, and execution of camps, public skate, birthday parties, school lessons, and community/special events.Responsibilities· Oversees program execution, assist with program creation or implementation, keeps an · Ongoing record of new drills/activities and preparation of lesson plans/itineraries for all programs.· Implements all drills and activities as set out in the Canlan Ice Sports Community Programs Manual· Identifies & recruits the needed contract instructors for the various programs.· Continuously keeps inventory of equipment and replace the needed equipment regularly.· Has strong communication skills with participants, parents, and instructing staff.· Is aware of the AOP targets, expectations, and budgets.· Assists with day to day tasks, supports the Programs Manager by providing clear vision of progression and growth in the program offerings and execution/delivery of each.· Is aware of training policies and procedures for all new hires.· Provides staff with seasonal (summer) or annual evaluations to ensure staff development.· Understands and sells the Canlan camps/programs based on teaching and learning proper technique in all skill areas (which is the foundation of our success).· Highly organized with the ability to self-plan and meet deadlines.· Organize staff and ensure all waivers and private documents of participants are collected and securely kept.· Willingness to assist on an as needed basis in other departments/areas. · Ability to evaluate programs and plan accordingly to improve delivery/product when needed. ·Provide additional coaching (direction, feedback).·Provide additional practice plans/in-depth itineraries when needed to meet company and customer expectations.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE· Graduation from a university/college in the Sports/Leisure, Administration, or Kinesiology preferred.· Experience in customer service and/or marketing.· Supervisory experience.· Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Publisher).· Experience with programming software such as CLASS is considered an asset. · Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings & weekends) as well as limited vacation during peak seasons (summer & holidays).· Experience working in a sports or leisure environment such as youth camps, programs or community events.
