Schneider Electric Reliability Test Technologist Intern in Burnaby, British Columbia

Schneider Electric is offering a 2 term position as a Reliability Test Automation Coop for and individual who is whose is enrolled in either Computer or Engineering Sciences. The primary responsibility will be the development and maintenance of an automated test framework for testing our control hardware. The position will involve working with the software development, software test, and reliability groups to interface control modules to our boards and develop automated scripts to exercise the boards that are undergoing reliability testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with project teams to develop hardware and software to facilitate reliability testing of our control boards
  • Develop and maintain test automation software
  • Creation of automated testing tools, test automation frameworks, harnesses, and test scripts
  • Create test cases for an in-house test automation framework
  • Test planning, test case design and execution, test case management, defect management, metrics collection and reporting
  • Works with software testing staff to identify opportunities for the use of automated testing scripts, tools, harnesses
  • Analyzes results, identifies trends, and reports performance metrics to other technical staff. Works with other technical staff to troubleshoot and identify root cause of problems
  • Identify and implement process, development and communication improvements

Desired Experience:

  • Background in Computer Engineering/Science, Electrical/Physics Engineering
  • Knowledge of computing science essential
  • Experience with embedded systems
  • Strong experience in scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience with automated testing and verification techniques and reporting
