EAX is our Digital Innovation team. We are seeking an operations technology leader to help create our infrastructure and build engineering platforms to support our innovation-focused development organization. We’re creating both the strategies and services to help gamers discover and access games, connect across all devices and reward them for their loyalty. Our goal is to figure out how to engage our 300 million users in new and groundbreaking ways. The future growth of EA is built on these strategies.
You will be responsible for introducing, designing, building and maintaining our enterprise scale infrastructure platform and build pipeline for existing services including Origin and EA Access as well as new services to come. Your success will come by providing technical leadership to two engineering teams and one incident/problem management team under the Online Operations group.
You’re an expert in operational best practices and efficient build pipelines. In addition to exceptional comprehension of operational best practices, you’re a technology leader who is passionate about growing the team with innovation and agility. You are willing to sell, drive and defend operational requirements and thrives in a highly collaborative and iterative/lean product environment
What you will be responsible for:
Collaborating with a product manager to build a vision and roadmap for the Online Operations teams
Prioritizing and building business case for engineering efficiency and continuous improvement roadmap items
Leading and making technology decisions to drive improvements in the quality, robustness and agility of our platform and services
Driving and supporting operational requirements and best practices throughout the development organization
Technical escalation point for the Online Operations teams
Defining effective metrics for measuring operations and release engineering health
Driving innovation by connecting with the industry community to introduce practical new technologies and trends along with industry best practices in the operations and release engineering space
Technical ownership and champion over continuous delivery capabilities
Liaising and bringing back best practices and learning from other EA teams to align and reduce duplication of efforts where appropriate
Mentoring and empowering engineering leads
Building, maintaining and evangelizing a platform to empower developers build and iterate quickly. This includes:
Infrastructure as code capabilities that the developers will use daily
Visualize service costs to empower developers with cost containment and efficiency
Systems to collect client and server performance statistics for developers to action on
Continuous Integration environments
What you will bring:
Working knowledge with AWS primitives
Working knowledge of Content Delivery Networks and their capabilities
A track record of building secure and resilient infrastructure and services
5+ years experience with operations work on complex online systems
2+ years experience in a leadership role (technical lead, team lead, manager)
Strong communication and collaboration skills
