Chevron’s Burnaby Refinery is a modern 55,000 Barrel per day refinery located on Burrard Inlet near Vancouver, British Columbia. Our facility supplies a significant portion of southwestern BC’s gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel and is part of Chevron’s global network of refineries.

The Area 1 Shipper position is an entry level position. A 4th Class Steam Ticket is required. Previous railcar experience is considered an asset, but is not required.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Loading/Unloading railcars (Crude/LPG)

  • Assist with Loading/Unloading marine vessels

  • Environmental care regarding API separators and the Foreshore

  • Tank Farm support as required

  • Safety Standby and Fire watch support

  • Assist with rail logistics as required

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Fourth Class Power Engineering Certificate

  • High degree of commitment to safety

  • Ability to establish strong relationships within a team environment.

  • Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, manage a variable work schedule and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Oil Refining, Pulp & Paper, Natural Gas Processing or Petrochemical

  • Valid Third Class Power Engineering Certificate

Work Schedule:

Days of Work: 3 Shifts (Mon-Thu, Fri-Mon or Tue-Sat)

Hours of Work: 9.5hrs/day or 7.6 hrs/day for Tue-Sat shift

Shortlisted candidates will be required to participate in testing.
