We are seeking a driven sales person to make a dramatic impact to the market share of our building automation products in Western Canada. The successful candidate will develop business by promoting our offer to end customers, co-selling with partners and working to specify our solutions to consulting engineers.
Take personal responsibility to achieve revenue targets for the sale of offers to designated markets, segments and, or Accounts;
Develop strategies and plans to grow sales, to expand into new segments and detail how targets will be measured and achieved;
Use our CRM and prepare reports to document your progress and to share information about your activities and the progress of opportunities and accounts under your management;
Take ownership of the business in Ontario (excludes Ottawa) by setting strategy, focusing resources and executing plans, including the effective management of your own time to meet ever growing demands with limited resources;
You will serve our partners and their end customers by rallying administrative, finance, marketing, product support, logistics and management resources, formal and informal, to form ad-hoc teams to resolve partner, product, market, fulfilment or other issues;
You will not be desk bound and you will spend 80% of your time serving end customers and specifiers (people external to Schneider). You will know the key people at your Accounts, meet with them often and to be sure to help the to identify opportunities to use our technologies before our competitors do;
Be an active member of the building automation communities. Participate in associations and other industry events to elevate your profile and that of Schneider Electric;
Share in team tasks and responsibilities, such as covering for colleagues on holiday, trade shows, marketing efforts, participating in corporate initiatives and helping to develop the skills, knowledge and abilities of your team mates.
The candidate will be:
A self-starter who can overcome ambiguity to take initiative and lead without authority;
Passionate and savvy about building automation technologies who can define customer’s technical requirements and then assemble a team to build a package of complex solutions;
A self-learner who continuously improves his/her skills, knowledge and use of tools to improve his/her productivity;
A salesperson who is customer oriented and empathetic, who is adamant about representing the customer’s interests and assuring that the company provides the best customer experience possible;
A Team player who meets, develops and invites co-workers to participate in her/his work and assists them to achieve their goals.
Willing to travel to meet customers, complete training and participate in company meetings. A minimum: 3 out of Province several night trips/year, 1-2 several night trips/month. 3 days/week on the road to meet customers within 300km of Mississauga.
A degree in business or engineering preferred and technical aptitude and business acumen are imperative.
2+ years of direct business development experience required. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in fields related to building automation. Contacts from building automation customers in Ontario required (customer references required with application).
Able to drive in the Province of Ontario
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Location: Mississauga, other GTHA locations, or home office could be considered for experienced sales candidates following an onboarding period.
