As a key member of the Business Relationship Management group, and reporting to the Manager, Business Analysis Center of Excellence, this COOP opportunity will support the BA Center of Excellence.

This Co-op position is an 8 month term , preferred start date of January 2017, alternatively May 2017.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Development of Agrium Business Analyst’s handbook, templates, process and supporting documents.

  • Acting as a Liaison between IT and our Business Partners to uphold a clear understanding of requirements.

  • Elicitation and delivery of clear, detailed, unambiguous business requirements and solution specifications

  • Participation and collaboration with Business Analysts, BRMs, external and internal stakeholders to develop: Business Cases, Objective Models, Business Requirements Documentation and Mapping, Data Dictionary, Use Cases, Process Flows, Report design, Test Plans, Defect / Enhancement tracking, Business Process Procedures (BPPs)

  • Working independently with stakeholders and IT staff under the direction of BRMs, Manager, BA COE and project managers in a team environment

  • Producing deliverables according to standard templates appropriate for project scale

  • Collaboration with developers, vendors and subject matter experts to establish the operational vision and to perform a gap analysis

  • Assist in user acceptance testing, test planning, development of test cases and test execution management to ensure alignment with original requirements

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Progression towards a degree in Computer Sciences, Management Information Systems, or Business Degree

  • Aptitude for business analysis, processes development and assessment and financial analysis

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with expert fluency in Excel, Visio, PowerPoint

  • Business aptitude for strategy, IT projects and Business Analysis

  • Understanding of the IT Life Cycle

  • Exceptional communication, both written and verbal, and facilitation skills

  • Must be registered in a structured Co-op Program with their post-secondary institution

Personal characteristics

  • Comfortable initiating meetings, elicitation workshops, interviews and feedback sessions

  • Detail oriented

  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to influence and promote cross functional collaboration

  • Ability to partner with both technical and non-technical staff

  • Ability to travel
