Cenovus is looking for highly motivated and ambitious students to join our engineering function. Our student positions provide opportunities to learn and apply engineering principles. Our positions are utilized to evaluate the candidates’ potential as possible future, full-time employees. Job performance will be reviewed periodically throughout and appraised at the end of the term.

This is a 4- 8 month term, based on candidate availability, beginning in May 2017 and will be based in our Calgary head office.
Prepare drilling, completions and work over evaluations and procedures
Conduct reservoir performance evaluations, pipeline and compression optimization studies, evaluating new engineering technologies
Work with operations staff associated with the day-to-day management of an oil or gas field
Legally entitled to work in Canada for the duration of your work term
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering
A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Available to begin work in May 2017
Currently enrolled full-time in 3rd or 4th year of an engineering program at an accredited post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies after the work term
Expected graduation date: Winter 2017 or later
Previous engineering or field experience is considered an asset
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Critical thinker and ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced, high-performing, team environment
Flexible to changing work demands and ability to prioritize
Innovative, with a strong desire to learn and the ability to encourage new ways of looking at problems, processes or solutions
Demonstrates collaboration by actively seeking out diverse people and organizations to collectively achieve business goals
Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Understanding of key safety principles and demonstrated safety leadership
