Cenovus Energy Engineering Technologist - New Grad in Calgary, Alberta

Cenovus is looking for highly motivated and ambitious graduates to join our Engineering Technologist Team. You will be entering our New Grad Development Program where in your first three to five years you will receive a breadth of experience through various job rotations throughout the engineering function.
Cenovus is looking for students who will be completing a Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering Technology Program by May 2017. These full-time positions will be based in Calgary.
Production optimization, horizontal well completion design, stimulation treatment design, artificial lift design, well testing
Reserves determination, deliverability forecasting, simple PTA & RTA, decline analysis, reservoir modeling and EOR monitoring (Polymer, ASP, CO2 and waterflood)
Building and maintaining databases to streamline workflows
Economic evaluations & capital planning to support business decisions
Compiling, editing and submitting regulatory applications to the AER
Creating various land, well and infrastructure maps using software’s such as GeoScout or Accumap
Completion of MRL calculations on oil wells as required by AER regulations
Tracking and reporting isolation packer and surface casing vent tests
Water, oil, gas & sand sampling and testing for impact on surface facilities, downhole equipment and reservoir performance
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Enrolled in or completed final year of a Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Technology Program
Available to begin work May 2017
0-2 years of oil and gas engineering or field experience
A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Ability to travel to various field locations
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Critical thinker and ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced, high-performing, team environment
Flexible to changing work demands and ability to prioritize
Innovative, with a strong desire to learn and the ability to encourage new ways of looking at problems, processes or solutions

Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Understanding of key safety principles and demonstrated safety leadership
