Cenovus Energy Geoscience Technologist - New Grad in Calgary, Alberta

Cenovus is looking for highly motivated and ambitious graduates to join our Geosciences Team. You will be entering our New Grad Development Program where in your first three to five years you will receive a breadth of experience through various job rotations throughout the Geoscience function.
These full-time positions will be based in Calgary.
Technical support for Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists
Construct cross sections
Establish geological databases (formations, LAS, core analysis, etc.) and maintain integrity/accuracy of data
Work using MS Windows and UNIX/Linux operating systems
Retrieve and organize log, core and fluid analyses as well as production data
Utilize log analysis software to generate data for mapping
Mapping – structure and reservoir mapping including volumetrics, plotting well information on activity maps
Preparation of presentation and report materials
Working with Geographic Information Systems (Geographix, Petrel, Petra, GeoScout or ArcGIS)
Loading and quality control of geophysical data
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Enrolled in or recently completed an Earth Science Technology, Geological Technology, Exploration Technology or Petroleum Technology Program
Available to begin work May 2017
0-2 years of geoscience technology experience
A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Strong computer knowledge of MS Office Suite. Experience working with Geographic Information Systems (Geographix, Petrel, Petra, GeoScout or ArcGIS)
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Critical thinker and ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced, high-performing, team environment
Flexible to changing work demands and ability to prioritize
Innovative, with a strong desire to learn and the ability to encourage new ways of looking at problems, processes or solutions
Demonstrates collaboration by actively seeking out diverse people and organizations to collectively achieve business goal
