ROLE SYNOPSIS

This is a position for a Mechanical Designer who will work as part of an integrated product team tasked with conceptualizing, designing, qualifying and supporting technologies for inline inspection. The candidate will work in an innovative, challenging and highly rewarding environment with a team of highly qualified professionals focused on pushing the limits of PPS ILI technology through creative thinking, research, design, analysis, prototyping and qualification.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Contribute to the provision of mechanical design services for new product development and special projects.

  • Work independently and within the team on the development of original designs or adaptations.

  • Develop and detail complex computer aided designs with emphasis on functionality, manufacturability and maintainability.

  • Assist in Prototype and product validation test definition, planning and implementation

  • Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation (manuals, etc.)

  • Adherence to BHI design standards; BHI engineering change management, document control, and product development processes; regulatory and industry standards.

  • Participate in mechanical engineering design reviews as necessary

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or related field preferred) or equivalent.

  • Intermediate designer with 5 years of mechanical drafting experience and 1 years mechanical design experience.

  • Comprehensive and specialized knowledge of engineering and drafting standards including codes and regulations affecting design assignment.

  • Highly proficient in the use of SolidWorks and Microsoft Office

  • Previous large assembly mechanical design experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Good organizing, planning, and presentation skills

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Siemens NX preferred

  • Experience with Siemens Teamcenter, Autodesk Vault, and Solidworks PDM preferred

  • Knowledge of inline Inspection tools preferred

  • 10 years mechanical design experience preferred

  • Design for manufacturing experience preferred.
