The Communications and Marketing department supports the achievement of priorities in SAIT's strategic plan, tells SAIT’s story, enhances our brand and executes on marketing strategy across SAIT, in collaboration with schools and departments. As the Senior Digital Content Specialist, you will develop, implement and maintain the annual digital content work plan, ensuring alignment with overall divisional priorities and the strategic goals of SAIT. You will manage the work flow for 2-3 team members to ensure alignment of effort to the digital content plan. You are a strategic and creative problem solver who will look for opportunities to create website content and present it in a way that is engaging with our students and broader audiences. You have the proven ability to lead projects from conception to completion. We are looking for an individual who is able to respond to emerging online issues and create an exemplary website content plan maximizing the collaborative talents of team contributors!

NOTE: This an internal competition for SAIT Employees ONLY

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a detailed digital content plan (including a schedule, communication plan and resources required documentation)

  • Organize and monitor content-related activities and initiate strategies to efficiently and effectively deliver the plan

  • Curate, edit and approve website content in support of SAIT’s brand story and key initiatives

  • Guide, educate and train team members in creation of website content to support needs of stakeholders and align with SAIT’s brand strategy

  • Identify obstacles and objectives in order to develop solutions and recommendations for a better user experience

  • Report on annual activities and the work plan by compiling insights and lessons learned into formal reports

  • Seek opportunities to collaborate and create fully integrated digital, web and social media initiatives with other members of the Communications and Marketing team

  • Develop online writing style guide

  • Ensure processes and systems support the work of the team

  • Identify and assess technical challenges and seek innovative processes and tools to improve collaboration

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree with specialization in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in content creation and web writing

  • Knowledge and experience with current website best practice and content management system

  • Experience in producing a variety of communication vehicles, including web-based tools, aimed at various audiences

  • Ability to lead and direct others

  • Strategic and innovative thinker with proven excellence in writing and editing

  • Excellent organizational skills to work independently, manage projects with many moving parts and meet tight timelines
