NOVA Chemicals Senior HR Systems Specialist in Calgary, Alberta

Overview

The Senior HR Systems Specialist will act as an advisor to the Human Resources team providing strong technical expertise linking HR business requirements and processes with the technical requirements required by IT. The successful candidate will build strong, effective working relationships with the HR community and their clients, through team work and collaboration to ensure a solid understanding of processes for all HR programs and system requirements. Additionally, the successful candidate will effectively support the design and implementation of HR systems and any subsequent upgrades while ensuring data integrity is maintained and that any solutions will consider ease of use and are sustainable within business processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with HR team to understand the system needs of the HR business and their clients

  • Translate business requirements into functional technical specifications

  • Provide input and support when analyzing software technical problems and deficiencies, data integration issues, and process improvements. Recommends solutions and follows through to implementation.

  • Provide data interpretation and analytics through reporting, audits and collection of human resources data to support complex decisions

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders on upgrades, patches, enhancements, testing, validation and overall performance management of the system. Understands Testing requirements and provides mentoring to team members and HR community

  • Prepare and maintain detailed support documentation for HR systems and program processes

Qualifications:

  • University graduate with 7 to 10 years related experience and continued professional development

  • 12+ years combination of post-secondary education and related experience

  • Expert knowledge of core HR SAP and Success Factors implementations or cloud based solution

  • Solid critical thinking and strong attention to detail

  • Excellent organization and complex problem solving skills

  • Must have strong effective communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills with ability to adapt to the needs of specific audiences

  • Must have excellent organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently in a dynamic, rapidly evolving team under tight deadlines

  • Ability to adapt to changing business priorities

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office/ Suite (Access, Word, Excel – pivot tables, look-ups, filters etc.)
