Under the general direction of the Manager, Talent Management and in collaboration with other human resources professionals and people leaders, you will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative, enterprise-wide organizational development strategies, solutions and services that align with SAIT’s people strategy. You will be designing programs focused on building a culture of high-performance and accountability, as well as engaging and developing our talent to achieve organizational objectives.

Note: This is a temporary, benefits eligible position

with an end date of December 15, 2017.


  • Design and implement programs aligned with SAIT’s Learning and Development Framework aligned to our competency model

  • Lead the development and implementation of Leadership Development activities including the Leadership Development Framework, Leadership Development Program, Leadership Summit and Leadership Competency Framework

  • Lead the development and implementation of Orientation and On-boarding programs including New Leader Orientation and New Employee Orientation

  • Act as the business SME for a new Learning Management System(LMS) implementation

  • Provide program support in the implementation of SAIT’s institutional projects including, SAIT’s Competency Model, SAIT’s new Performance Management Program, and SAIT’s Employee Engagement Program

  • Facilitate team and employee development sessions as needed

  • Oversee SAIT’s Professional Credential Enhancement Program including the effective management of an institutional budget

  • Conduct needs assessment, design and develop learning solutions that are aligned to the needs of the business and learners. Partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders to scope business and learner requirements.

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners to facilitate innovative solutions to enhance the performance of leaders and teams across the organization

  • Develop key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of learning and development initiatives to improve efficiency, effectiveness and to inform business decisions

  • Manage outside contractors and partners to ensure effective delivery of key programs

  • Facilitate team and employee development sessions as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Business, Human Resource Management, , or related field with a minimum of 8 years’ relevant work experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in presentation and facilitation of adult training curriculum

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in either program design and or new course design

  • Formal education and/or training in Adult Learning considered an asset

  • Canadian Human Resource Professional (CHRP), Associate Certified Coach (ACC) or Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) considered an asset

  • Demonstrated experience thriving in a Business Partner/Centre of Excellence service model

  • Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles, organization development/effectiveness and of a wide range of training methods, techniques and formats (e.g. e-learning)

  • Sound project management experience and results orientation, including ability to lead, organize and deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives

  • Knowledge and understanding of change leadership principles

  • Strong conceptual thinking skills, balanced by the ability to execute organizational development programs

  • Proven ability to integrate strategic long-term business objectives and organizational goals into program design and delivery

  • Analytical skills, research techniques, problem resolution capability

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to impact and influence to achieve a desired result while building successful stakeholder relationships
