Job Overview

Reporting to the director, enterprise architecture, you will develop strategic roadmaps for the Upstream portfolio in alignment with our Information Technology (IT) strategy. You will drive the overall standards and direction of architecture and shape the projects in the Upstream domain to enable business technology strategies.

Key Accountabilities

  • Document and maintain the business domain architecture(s) including actionable conceptual and logical architectural designs using established enterprise and application design patterns

  • Analyze enterprise business drivers to determine corresponding change requirements

  • Analyze the IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement

  • Analyze industry trends and best practices to identify best-in-class IT and enterprise architecture direction

  • Provide appropriate project oversight to confirm solutions are successfully implemented and achieve the desired business outcomes

  • Provide architecture oversight to the solution architects assigned to projects and programs under your portfolio

  • Develop a road map of the evolution of the portfolio applications from current to future state

  • Perform complex architectural assessments supporting business case development, application architecture development, technology decisions, and process optimization activities

  • Identify technology opportunities to deliver operational efficiencies and competitive advantage to a business domain

  • Develop and manage the enterprise architecture solution review process

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • 10 or more years of experience developing and leading innovative architecture solutions, preferably for upstream assets

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, software engineering, management information systems

  • Professional certification as an architect with an industry-recognized organization (e.g. IBM) is preferred

  • Certification in enterprise architecture, such as the open group architecture framework (TOGAF) is beneficial

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Clear understanding of business architecture standards and policies

  • Advanced knowledge of architecture tools, processes and procedures

  • Ability to interpret and communicate IT-related information and concepts into business language

  • Very strong vendor management, customer service and business relationship skills for both internal and external clients

Working Conditions

  • Extra hours may be occasionally required in order to meet critical deadlines or schedules
