Working here is your opportunity to shape an industry that’s vital to us all.Job SummaryPosition is responsible for providing professional supervision of nurses who are providing nursing care to individuals including the intravenous or injection administration of biologics or other specialty pharmaceutical products and promotes patient health by completing health reviews prior to treatment, reviews patient files and collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members as required, with the end goal of providing medical therapies or self-administration teaching to patients in an ambulatory setting. The Regional Nurse Supervisor coordinates the efforts of the nursing team to ensure consistent behaviours and adherence to protocols and procedures and is responsible for the evaluation of all employees within the applicable region and may be required to travel to attend and supervise all the clinics in the applicable region.The Regional Nurse Supervisor is responsible to act as a resource and provide expertise, training and mentoring to staff in the applicable region to ensure safe, high quality and consistent delivery of care.Specific DutiesDuties and responsibilities include:1. Nurse supervisors provide expert medication administration and care for patients, and they also oversee the nursing staff.2. As a nurse supervisor, you will ensure that there is adequate staffing in your clinics and be required to interact with patient and families, manage issues that arise during operating hours in your region, and direct and supervise all aspects of patient care. 3. Accountable for the day to day running of the clinical aspects of the nurses in the applicable geographical region.4. Provides professional clinical leadership and acts as a resource to the staff in the applicable region.5. Provide onboarding assistance to the newly hired Nurses and participate in the orientation process to ensure the staff are appropriately certified and trained nursing staff for each clinic. 6. Performs research to remain up to date on current nursing care practices and provides training to assigned nurses in the region.7. Participate in audit assessment activities to determine adherence to protocols and guidelines.8. Monitoring feedback from families, patients, clinic nurses and bringing issues forward with solutions to management will be included in the responsibilities9. Evaluates and monitors nurse’s performance for conduct that is safe, legal and ethical and in accordance with provincial College of Nurses standards and guidelines on medication administration10. Working and collaborating with physicians to properly plan activities for patient care and develop strategies for dealing with those issues and ensuring that the needs of patients are met.11. Collaborates with infusion coordinator teams to ensure excellent customer service12. Advising the Nurse Manager of all staffing requirements General Duties• Maintaining continuity among nursing team in the region by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.• Establishing a compassionate and engaging workplace and supporting nursing staff • Maintaining and protecting patient confidentiality. • Maintaining safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.• Ensuring proper operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.• Maintaining clinic medical and stationary supply levels.• Maintaining up-to-date professional and technical knowledge by completing/attending educational workshops.• Maintaining a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.• Contributing to team effort and corporate goals.• Coordinate and execute presentations, demonstrations and/or site visits to ensure professional service delivery and ensure professional competent workforce• Report incidents to management and Quality Assurance Teams • Evaluate the job performance of nursing staff by reviewing an employee's performance of completed work assignments and work techniques and gives staff suggestions on improving their work performance.• Follow company policies.• Collaborate and contribute in practice committeesQualificationsQualifications/Requirements: • Registered Nurse, Registered in the regions supervised• 5 or more year’s previous Supervisory experience in a clinical medical or hospital environment with proven leadership abilities.• Strong communication skills, able to manage relationships with a proven track record of exceptional customer service.• Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on clinical expertise and clinic operations • Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.• High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.• Ability to lead and manage change as well as coach and mentor a team of professionals.• A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.• A valid driver’s license to meet travel requirements.• Working knowledge of Provincial Regulatory requirements • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
