Our Swiss Chalet team is growing!!! We are looking to add a Local Store Marketing / Community Ambassador to our team in Edmonton!

The Community Ambassador (CA) will be the face of the brand within the community and work to create sales building opportunities by establishing relationships with various organizations. The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Managing the restaurant ‘landscape’ by identifying opportunities, analyzing competitors and building positive, on-going relationships in the community

  • Implementing local store marketing initiatives through the development of a Marketing Action Plan specific to the restaurant in tandem with the national plan

  • Building brand top-of-mind awareness through community involvement and online activity

As the ideal candidate, your duties and main responsibilities will include – but are not limited to:

Develop a Community Inventory

  • Identify any potential sales building opportunities with the businesses and organizations in the local community

  • Make connections within each of these opportunities and maintain a database of information

Trade Area Analysis

  • Identify competitors and which channel(s) of the business they a threat to

  • Evaluate developments and events in the community and identify areas of opportunity

Champion national, regional and local store marketing initiatives

  • Organize and communicate promotion details to management team, FOH and BOH teams

  • Ensure promotion schedule is followed, track and communicate progress

  • Leverage opportunities in the community to maximize program performance

  • Manage and lead in-store events while allocating resources within budget guidelines

Create & Execute Store Marketing Action Plan

  • Use the trade area analysis to identify opportunities and pinpoint top priorities

  • Outline tactics/goals to help achieve each priority and determine the timing and expected result for each

Build brand top-of-mind awareness

  • Seek and initiate opportunities to integrate the brand into the community through sponsorships, community involvement and media relations

  • Brand differentiation- with so many options for our guests to choose from, it is essential that the CA connect and build relationships with individuals and organizations in the community to facilitate the creation of a marketing plan which meets their needs

  • Opportunities to connect with the community will come through the door everyday and having the flexibility to capitalize on every lead, in the moment, by finding or creating solutions will be the key to success

As the ideal candidate, you will offer:

  • Post secondary education in marketing or sales an asset

  • Minimum one-year experience in a full service restaurant/bar environment

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Strong organization and computer skills

  • Event planning experience an asset

  • Energetic, self starter and team player

  • Loves connecting with people and building relationships

  • Must have own vehicle

  • Work is performed in a combination of in-store setting, on the road and out in the community

  • Fast paced and constantly changing environment

  • Occasional unexpected work demands, changes to deadlines on short notice and tight time pressures

  • Varying work hours from day to day, week to week depending on the needs of the restaurant including days, evenings and weekends when hosting a special event
