We are currently seeking a Video Communications Student within our North American Headquarters district to work in our Communications Department . We are looking for a student available for 4 months from January to April 2017.

The role will be involved in a combination of the following duties dependent on the assigned project:

  • Responsible for creating and editing of video content in a Corporate and e-Learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with teams at PCL to develop videos on a variety of topics.

  • Work directly with communications team to complement messaging and content with creative elements.

  • Actively participate in pre-and post-production phases of the video process in an asset (scripting, storyboarding, location, interviews, lighting, sound, filming, and editing).

  • Develop video best practices and guidelines for PCL

  • Ensure videos are executed flawlessly at events and through PCL’s video delivery platform.

Skills required:

  • Currently enrolled in a film and video production or digital media program in a post-secondary institution

  • Sound knowledge of video production process (scripting, storyboarding, location, interviews, lighting, sound, filming, and editing)

  • Knowledge of FCP, Premiere, and Photoshop

  • Knowledge of After Effects, or Motion is an asset but not required

  • Photography skills is an asset

  • Must have good technical and creative skills

  • Detail-oriented, time management and project management skills

  • Maintains a positive working relationship with clients

  • Ability to perform multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

  • May be required to visit job sites; some travel is expected (within Alberta)

  • Any experience working in a studio environment is an asset

This position may require student to work outside of regular office hours for events
