Job Overview

In this temporary role and reporting to the general manager, operations, primary extraction and utilities, you will be responsible for effectively communicating across all levels within Suncor, as well as with external organizations. You will need to balance a demanding workload while exercising mature professional judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist directors with time and calendar management

  • Arrange internal and external meetings and assist with document preparation and communication for meetings

  • Address scheduling conflicts with clear and timely communication and advise of actions and deadlines in advance

  • Attend meetings as requested, take notes of action items and key messages, and participate and provide support during meetings

  • Support leaders with expense management and booking travel arrangements

  • Administer LiveLink folders and the information request process

  • Liaise with the facilities helpdesk, meeting room services, and other support groups to assist with the administration of information

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

  • Five years of experience with providing administrative support

  • Diploma in office administration, records and information management, or related post-secondary training is an asset

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent computer skills, including expert level Microsoft Office skills in Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

  • Proficiency with SAP and LiveLink is an asset

  • Excellent time management with proven organizational abilities

  • You continually seek greater knowledge about the systems, processes and hazards in the workplace, in order to understand not just what you do but why you do it

  • You have the confidence and ability to prioritize tasks and to respond to the challenges of multiple people and requests

Working Conditions

  • This is a temporary role for a period of 12 months

  • This is a camp-based position at the Fort Hills mine site

  • The shift schedule is a four days on, three days off rotation
