The Oil Sands is currently looking for an InSite Health and Safety Representative to join our team and support our Fort Hills, AB (98SFH) location. This role is responsible for providing complete, thorough and professional health, safety and environmental support. In addition, this individual will promote a positive safety culture while anticipating and assessing health and safety hazards.
Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes;
Provide leadership and advice for maintaining workplace health & safety compliance;
Conduct Health & Safety inspections, observation, audits and incident investigations;
Assist and coach site management to perform safety functions;
Assist with the effective and efficient implementation of corporate safety compliance program directives and provisions;
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety processes and procedures;
Interact with clients in an effective and professional manner;
Establish a safety network with client safety departments and local governmental and regulatory officials and personnel;
Detailed list “HSE Safety Representative Duties” available.
Previous Health and Safety experience;
Knowledge in OH&S regulations;
NCSO designation required;
Class 5 driver’s license with a clean 5 – year driver’s abstract;
Previous oilfield, industrial or refinery experience preferred;
OH&S certification is an asset;
Strong communication and people skills.
