The function of this job is to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the Air Separation Plant mechanical equipment. The Millwright is responsible for the coordination and completion of preventive, predictive and unplanned mechanical maintenance activities. Through the implementation of safe work practices, designated processes, policies, and equipment knowledge, the millwright applies technical capabilities and troubleshooting skills towards the continuous operation of high speed rotating equipment and other fixed assets. The millwright plays a key role in technical decision making processes and effectively communicates equipment based health assessments to senior management, and other stakeholders.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Follow safe work permit processes, policies and procedures.
Provide technical expertise in consultation with engineering and reliability resources.
Create and update accurate equipment reports using a computerized maintenance management system (InforEAM)
Optimize work activities related to planned and unplanned equipment outages.
Assist in the training and development of new employees.
Assess and resolve priority based equipment issues as they arise.
Communicate directly with OEM vendors and suppliers.
Education, Technical and non-Technical:
Red Seal Journeyman Millwright certificate.
Proven experience with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and refurbishment of rotating equipment.
Previous experience in a continuous chemical operation environment.
Motivated, self-starter capable of effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities.
Relevant computer and technical skills.
Ability to read and interpret various drawings such as: P&IDs, schematics, and other detail design drawings.
Ability to be trained in the operation of mobile equipment (i.e. forklift, aerial work platform, etc.)
Basic understanding and application of pipefitting and rigging trade practices.
Ability to use and understand laser alignment, machining and welding tools.
Trained and knowledgeable in vibration monitoring and oil analysis.
Must have the ability to understand, analyze, and resolve technical problems.
Must be able to work overtime as required
Must have strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Must have a current and valid driver’s license
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job:
Climb stairs and ladders
Work in tight and closed spaces
Be able to wear all required personal protective equipment
