AECOM is seeking a Project Controls Intermediateto be based in our Joffre Nova location.
This position will be a fully competent project controls professional. Interpreting documentation, specifications, design drawings to determine material costs. Evaluates scope changes, cost trends, additional work orders and other elements. Monitors hours and costs to determine trends and to assist in forecasting. Preparing final estimate summaries analyzing each section for scope, pricing and completeness. Participating in estimate reviews; preparing costs studies to assist in the selection of economical designs. Reviewing and estimating values for purchasing requirements before forwarding to procurement. Meets with project personnel to establish the plan and document the scope, develop project schedules and or capital cost estimates. Prepares and maintains detailed engineering and construction schedules. Prepares reports to management regarding project scheduling activities and oversees the maintenance of all other essential records and reports. Liaises with project management regarding scheduling activities. Interacts with suppliers and contractors. Ensures the maintenance of all essential documentation
May include the following responsibilities:
Prepare cost reports related to incurred costs, earned value, cost performance factor and forecast.
May orient, train, assign, and check the work of lower level employees.
Analyze cost codes and coding issues, original budget to client codes as well as the current project setup.
Together with the Trend Coordinator (where applicable), assist or undertake the implementations, process, tracking, analysis and reconciliation of trends.
Maintain and update the cost code mapping within JD Edward system and Prism Control account as well as the Client Cost Code mapping files.
Prepare and update Client coding procedure & Guidelines.
Review and validate Expense/P-Card/Timesheet/Material Requisition cost codes.
Create and produce Client and Internal Cost Reports
Maintain, update and validate information within Prism system.
Attend and contribute information during team meetings with regards to current/outstanding issues and/or weekly process.
Designate for the Cost Control Lead as required.
Interface and provide on-going technical support to construction.
Communicate cost control details effectively to internal clients.
Collaborate with other functions to enhance project success on an as needed basis required by the Cost Controls Lead.
Post, review and print off any required information from Homebase which pertains to current tasks, responsibilities and projects.
Minimum of college diploma/certificate is required.
Intermediate Computer Skills: Microsoft Excel and Access), Prism.
Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience required.
Expert computer skills: Cost Processor (Prism).
Proven proficiency in cost engineering within the industrial construction environment.
