Electronic Arts, Inc Game Server Developer in Kitchener, Ontario
EA is the world leader in mobile gaming with a portfolio of mobile hits including Star Wars, FIFA, NBA LIVE, The Simpsons: Tapped Out, Real Racing, The Sims and Scrabble. The mobile gaming market continues to grow exponentially year over year and EA’s portfolio of world-class brands, access to external IP, and ability to create original hits puts the company in a unique position to increase this leadership position. Critical to this growth is EA’s ability to maintain our massive engaged audience and to successfully migrate these players to new games as they launch into the marketplace.
We are seeking a Game Server Developer to build a new real-time multiplayer mobile game based on licensed, major motion picture IP. The ideal candidate has experience developing server applications and operating them at scale on the public cloud.

Implement security best practices and original techniques to keep user data secure and prevent cheating.
Apply and improve server deployment and troubleshooting strategies that maximize uptime.
Test thoroughly at every phase of development, ensuring quality remains high as the game evolves.
Coordinate with remote game teams, IT, and other groups within EA as needed to ensure the game services are used as intended and, ultimately, drive product success.
A strong desire to create scalable game servers using modern tech for modern games.
Top notch programming skills – preference for developers with Java 8 experience, but we hold nothing against other languages.
A respect for skilled hackers and a healthy level of paranoia that drive your security-centric approach.
Willingness to over communicate – raise concerns early and drive discussions toward solutions.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, or experience to match.
Games industry experience, especially supporting multiplayer games and/or Unity-based games.
Expertise running live services with Amazon Web Services, Google App Engine, or another public cloud service
Familiarity with any of the following:
