Role Summary/Purpose

The Service unit of GE Grid Solutions is currently seeking a Service R&D power electronics field specialist. Reporting directly to the Head of Service Power Electronics (PE), the incumbent will be responsible, in collaboration with the engineering department and the software group to ensure the development of new digital tools to support the Operations & Maintenance of Power Electronics stations.

Essential Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be:

Resource planning, equipment and time for research, development and deployment of new tools.

Manage internal and external resources required to realize the different projects.

Perform tests

Prepare progress reports, gate-review presentation, test results, non-compliance report using GE’s R&D project methodology

Develop all technical procedures and documentation

Provide training to future external and internal users using technical documentation necessary to operate the different tools. Provide information supplements as needed.

Provide technical assistance in the preparation of the deployment.

Analyze, investigate and propose solutions to problems concerning bugs identified. Test and industrialize the solution.

Participate in the development of inspection criteria in collaboration with the engineering team.


Bachelor degree in electrical engineering with specialization in power electronics or electrical engineering

Proved experience in management of R&D project

Have good ability to interact and communicate with internal and external contacts

Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic equipment power

Advanced knowledge in Asset Management Performance

Fluency in English (mandatory) and French will be a plus.

Travelling : 10% worldwide
