Job Overview

Provide independent and high-level strategic HR partnership to Commercial MSNT Business Unit Leaders in Canada. Primary focus will be on partnering with the Business Unit Leaders to create and develop a highly engaged, high performance team that consistently deliver results. Partner with divisions to translate divisional strategy into HR strategy to achieve growth ambitions for Canada. Deliver strategic HR partnership to the business through: talent management, succession planning and individual development planning activities, change management, performance management, employee relations, and orchestration of other HR services. Partner with divisional & local HR to provide seamless, effective full-service HR support to clients.

Responsibilities

Individual Responsibilities:

• Proactively collaborates with commercial and business operations teams/departments to promote a culture of inclusiveness and cooperation

Functional Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic HR Partnership to business leaders

• Share responsibility with business leaders to build great leadership capabilities and achieve business results

• Participate and be an active member of business unit leadership teams

• Effectively manage multiple stakeholders in highly complex and unique environment

• Assist the leader in building a highly engaged team and great leadership capabilities while achieving business results

• Partner with the business unit leader & recruiter(s) on all recruitment activity; always ensuring a high talent mind-set is maintained and effective talent bench is in place for all MSNT commercial roles

• Drive performance management as part of the organizational culture. Ensure strong JDs, performance objectives, bonus objectives and sales incentive plans are in place

• Manage talent review, support and guide the creation of Individual development plans, succession planning, all the time developing the team’s talent bench Set and provide HR direction for business unit; advising clients on employment practices, corporate and divisional policies/procedures

• Provide guidance on effective reward and recognition initiatives; with a focus on rewarding top performers

• Ensure an effective performance management process is in place. Support the leader in addressing any performance concerns promptly, assisting in the development of PIPs and appropriate management of consistent under performers

• Align C&B with division priorities, provide input on compensation guidelines

• Ensure employment documentation is appropriately administered

• Recommend and implement changes to HR processes that increase customer satisfaction and HR efficiency/effectiveness

• Ensure that new employees are effectively on-boarded and terminated employees are appropriately exited

• Oversee and lead employee litigation/dispute resolution for assigned business group

• Other duties as assigned by the Director, Human Resources

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with business leaders/managers in multiple functional areas, including sales

• Must have experience supporting a commercial business unit

• Proven track record in the provision of excellent strategic and tactical HR support

• Ability to operate in a complex environment, leveraging internal and external partners to meet the HR needs of the client base

• Proven ability to manage complex HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, compensation administration (including sales incentive plans) and benefits administration

• Demonstrated experience in organization design/restructuring and change management

• Ability to build relationships that help achieve results and influence employees, managers and leaders at every level of the organization

• Possess excellent communication, training and facilitation skills

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business or a related field of study, or equivalent work experience; Prefer Master's Degree in HR specialty or Business

• Canadian Human Resource Professional certificate program preferred

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a successful HR generalist supporting multiple business groups, including commercial teams

• Internal applicants with an equivalent combination of education, experience and performance over time at Stryker will be considered
