The London office of BDO Canada LLP has a fantastic opportunity for the right person as a Senior Accountant to support the growing Assurance and Accounting needs of our office. The Senior Accountant will have the opportunity to lead and assist with the execution of engagements of various sizes, mentor future leaders and provide accounting advice to clients in several industries. The successful candidate must lead by example, and have a combination of technical, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills. This will be a progressive position with opportunities for advancement and specialization in areas of interest to the selected candidate.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Preparation on a timely basis of financial statements and tax returns in accordance with Firm standards for clients in a variety of businesses and non-profit enterprises
Responsible for carrying out Assurance & Accounting engagements and projects (may include preparation of statutory accounts, due diligence, capital raising, and tax returns) according to Firm and regulatory standards for clients in a variety of businesses and non-profit enterprises
Auditing financial statements of business clients as a team member
Effective communication with our clients, with government agencies and with our partners and staff
Working cooperatively and effectively with other staff members
Complete additional projects or related duties as required
Travel to other BDO Offices in the area to assist with work as needed
Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge:
A University degree or College diploma
A Canadian professional accounting designation or be working towards completing accredited hours
A minimum of two (2) years of public accounting experience including auditing and the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Solid oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Experience with Caseware and TaxPrep an asset
Proficiency with MS Office
