Job Description

Wyndham Hotel Group is searching for afull-time Shuttle Driver/Porterto work at our beautifulIvey Spencer Leadership Centreproperty inLondon, Ontario. This position is responsible for transportation of guests, customers of company personnel as well as supporting theconference services department by participating in the on-the floor activities to ensure proper meeting rooms set up, maintenance and teardown, deliveries of coffee break services, etc.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Drives company van to transport guests, clients, company personnel or packages

  • Displays a friendly, efficient and courteous manner using safe driving practices and following safe driving procedures at all times (wearing seat belt and obeying all applicable traffic laws)

  • Required to report all accidents, injuries, unsafe working conditions and damage to hotel vehicles and related property.

  • Maintains an accurate shuttle activity and maintenance log

  • Responsible for fueling the vehicle.

  • Assists passengers in boarding and exiting the vehicle if needed, while using the proper tools as necessary and following the safety guidelines

  • Participates in set up, tear down and maintenance of meeting rooms, including resets in meeting rooms

  • Assists with the nourishment hub, including brewing coffee, clearing of dishes, stocking fridges, mugs, etc.

  • Assist with any audio visual set ups as required.

  • Delivers on exceptional guest service promise by providing personalized service to all external and internal clients at all times.

  • Follows standard procedures for the daily operation of the department, in accordance with hotel policies and management directives

  • Inspect, monitor and maintain level of cleanliness in conference rooms and hub areas, as assigned.

  • Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services and assist in resolving guests' complaints and concerns regarding conference services

  • Practice safe work habits; follow MSDS/SDS and WHMIS standards; wear protective safety equipment and participate in safety committees as directed.

  • Abide by property and legislative health & safety guidelines

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.


Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Prior shuttle driving experience preferred

  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Class F commercial drivers license and any other government required licenses, certificates or permits.

  • Must be able to work variable shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.

  • Must have employment eligibility in Canada

Physical requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and use hands to handle objects, tools or controls.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.

  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
