Our committed team of engineers and designers provide services to many client sectors, including transit, institutional, industrial and educational. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Designer to complement our M & E team in the Toronto Office. This candidate will play a lead role in assisting our clients in all phases of the design process, from functional planning and conceptual layout through to detailed design and construction support.

  • Perform mechanical engineering work (design & drafting) related to transit, institutional, life sciences and industrial buildings, specifically in the areas of Mechanical Systems, i.e. HVAC, plumbing and drainage, fire protection & controls.

  • Assist with feasibility/preliminary engineering studies to formulate, determine and evaluate design criteria for engineering work and to develop options for attaining the functionality required by the client.

  • Perform field review services periodically for the purpose of determining condition assessment of existing services, as well as during construction for the purpose of reviewing work for compliance with design specifications.

  • The ideal candidate would be a recent graduate from a mechanical engineering program with interest in building engineering and courses in heat transfer, thermodynamics, psychometrics and fluid mechanics.

  • Relevant Summer, co-op or full-time work experience is an asset

  • Strong interest and knowledge of building services, controls, HVAC, plumbing and drainage and fire protection.

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation and Microsoft Office.

  • Exceptional attention to detail specifically with accuracy in calculations and completeness of data.
