Honda Canada Research & Analytics Specialist (BI) in Markham, Ontario

The Research and Analytics Analyst is principally responsible for interpreting customer data, formulating reports and making recommendations based upon the research findings. To accomplish this task, this individual will need to understand how data flows in and out of the database then query this data based on the business objectives. Then apply qualitative and quantitative techniques to interpret the data and produce substantiated recommendations to the business on how we report and communicate with our customers.


  • Present findings of customer behavior analysis to customer retention department to collectively formulate communication strategies to improve customer retention

  • Management customer segments based on gathered business requirements for the Customer Retention Management group to use for customer communications

  • Evaluate customer behavior to identify opportunities to increase customer retention and to reduce customer defection throughout the customer life cycle

  • Generate and maintain reports/dashboards for all customer interaction activities for all business units

  • Responsible for the continuous evaluation the customer data security policies and practices

  • Continuously review all reports for accuracy and provide recommendation to enhance reporting

  • Review customer data on a daily basis in MDM data stewardship console

  • Perform complex data analysis to support data management decisions

  • Maintain, monitor, and verify the accuracy of customer data across multiple system and platforms

  • Data Steward using IBM MDM solution


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the area of data analytics

  • Post-secondary education in a strong quantitative orientated field, (mathematics, computer science, engineering)

  • Hands-on proficient experience with SAS, SQL, relational databases, data warehouse

  • Expert knowledge in advance SQL Database Design in relational data, data schema and scripting data extract strategies

  • Expert knowledge in direct marketing, campaign management, experimental design, customer analytics, CRM, segmentation, modeling

  • Strong Experience in programming in SQL, VBA

  • Strong Experience in BI and Analytics platform (SAP Business Objects, Tableau)

  • Experience in Project Management

  • Aptitude for statistical research and analysis with strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving abilities.

  • Past experience conducting research (market, consumer, product, etc.)

  • Experience developing technological documentation

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with conflicting demands and tight deadlines

  • Ability to write and deliver effective presentations and reports

  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills required

This is a one year contract to start.
