Job Summary: Reporting to the Director, National Business Development the Regional Business Development Manager will play an integral role in the Pharmaceutical Sales organization by providing leadership and management of the sales force for the purpose of meeting sales objectives with existing and prospective customers in retail pharmacy. The Regional Business Development Manager will accept the responsibility to develop, direct and effectively assist in sales activities and customer relations as designated by the Director, National Business Development. This position requires the ability to travel up to 40%. All regional sales staff will report directly to the Regional Business Development Manager.Specific Responsibilities:• Along with the Director, National Business Development, and in alignment with the corporate strategy, assist in planning, developing and executing the annual regional business plan and related sales growth programs and strategies with current customers and key business prospects implementing tactics to deliver annually targeted and longer term regional financial performance• Work with the Director, National Business Development and the Pharma Distribution Marketing team to execute on marketing programs, ensuring that territory objectives and initiatives are aligned and implemented to meet the business case for each specific imitative• Manage the performance and accountability of Business Development Representatives (“BDR’S”) for the region including succession planning, career development/planning and compensation via on-going coaching and mentoring• Ensure all aspects of specific customer program execution are carried out: pricing, compliance• Manage, maintain and set individual territory key performance indicators (KPI’s) • Serve as the lead in fostering a culture focused on the McKesson values as defined in ICARE and ILEAD. Direct communication within the region and throughout McKesson so that cooperation is encouraged, and employee engagement is maximized• Develop a strong partnership with the Retail Banner Regional Operations Managers (“ROM’S”) in your region to promote a high level of communication between the RBDM and the ROM, including meeting regularly with the ROM to review overall financial performance for the region and develop plans to deal with problems or issues related to Pharma Distribution• Attend key customer meetings as required to support the BDR team and specific business building initiatives.• Provide necessary support to help manage and solve field and customer escalated issues• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director, National Business Development Canada QualificationsQualifications • Post-secondary degree in Business or related field• MBA would be considered an asset• Minimum 3 years sales leadership experience• Experience calling on the retail pharmacy industry in Canada • Working knowledge of the (Insert Region) Canada Pharmacy retail business including well established executive relationships• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing sales initiatives and business plans to support evolving business goals, including delivering and executing sales growth strategies• Strong business acumen: knowledge of business theory, business processes and operations, management principles and budgets.Traits & Characteristics• Compelling interpersonal skills – ability to develop strong internal and external cross-functional relationships• Superior oral and written communication skills – ability to communicate across multiple levels of an organization• Strong computer and project planning skills• Ability to solve complex problems and resolve conflict in a timely manner• Attention to detail and accuracy• Strategic perspective with the ability to effectively manage details• Solid time management skills and results focused• Proven ability to multi-task and to prioritize projects or tasksCore Competencies• Leading and developing sales personnel• Time and territory management• Achieving financial objectives• Budgeting and forecasting • Thriving in a large organization• Business development Benefits & Company StatementMcKesson believes superior performance – individual and team – that helps us drive innovations and solutions to promote better health should be recognized and rewarded.
