This role is responsible for defining and expanding Teradata’s Demand Chain Management Solution program targeted at delivering business value to Retail and CPG organizations. The Senior Product Manager will create a business plan from existing ideas based on industry experience, market evaluation, customer interactions and ability to execute. The incumbent must possess strong business knowledge to create a vision and the drive to turn that vision into reality.
This individual will work across company organizations to ensure the business plan is achieved. This includes aligning go-to-market plans with marketing and field organizations, as well as making investment decisions and working with the development organization and third party partners to deliver a relevant solution portfolio. It also includes working with customers and maintaining market awareness to drive differentiated product positioning, key benefits, and target customer profiles. This person will be an evangelist internally and externally, the face of the program and the voice of the customer.
Manage the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
Drive the strategy, direction, investment and realization of Teradata’s Demand Chain Management, including pricing strategy and methodology, revenue and market share projection, and results tracking.
Specify market requirements for current and future offerings by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
Drive a solution set across development teams and Marketing through agile market requirements, product contract, and positioning.
Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
Develop and maintain a business plan, including make vs buy decisions and potential partner relationships for the portfolio.
Manage the scheduling and product management process for all project deliverables.
Lead and facilitate program reviews to ensure team coordination, issue resolution, action item tracking and delivery of results.
Ability to communicate the value and strategy of the program to C-Level Finance Executives
Ability to translate key proven technical advantages into real life business value that will appeal to C Level executives
Ability to not only communicate our value proposition, but be able to translate it into solutions sales
Practical business experience in the field of finance, typical challenges faced by supply chain organizations and best practices
Possess strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work across organizational structures to deliver a global program.
Ability to communicate advanced analytical concepts and complex themes in a concise, clear and actionable manner.
A change agent who can work with R&D managers to drive process improvements in an agile development environment
Able to look across a broad spectrum of new technologies to formulate a rational solution portfolio
Passionate about the challenges of building new Teradata offerings.
Positive attitude, attention to detail and intellectual curiosity are must.
Minimally a Bachelor’s (preferably Master’s) Degree in technical or business discipline with 5-10 years’ experience in related product management field.
Deep experience in supply chain department business processes and analytical techniques.
Must be able to complete detailed work, organize efficiently and exert influence.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and a track record of producing results in a team environment
Experience defining business requirements and managing projects
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and balance priorities.
Experience working with developers and software teams in an agile development environment.
Prior use of Lean and/or Six Sigma analytical techniques a plus.
This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America and Europe (25%).
