The Commercial Training Lead will provide training and development solutions to continuously enhance and improve individual and team performance of the field teams.
This position will have responsibility for strategic planning and implementation of world class product training, and skills-based training via eLearning, live meetings, virtual training, and on demand training courses.
The incumbent will create, plan, and execute the organization’s activities related to product training, disease training, and other business critical trainings as needed. Through education, observation, coaching and motivation, the trainer will ensure achievement of individual, team, and company objectives. The Trainer will assess, prioritize, design, develop and implement Learning & Development offerings in order to maximize effectiveness of commercial personnel.
Partnering with the Canadian senior team and the Global Training organization, the Training Lead will facilitate solutions and ongoing curriculum designed to enhance and continuously improve head office and field team competencies.
Working with the Global training organization, the successful candidate will assist in the development and execution of comprehensive strategic and tactical plans to support the short and long term objectives of the Sales, and Marketing teams.
This includes responsibility for implementation and continuous improvement to the following work streams:
New hire training programs and curriculum
Continuing education with ongoing learning programs
Advanced training for ongoing learning of product and disease knowledge and customer interaction
- Field advisory teams and learning champions
Key responsibilities and duties:
Actively work transversally across the commercial organization and with all relevant departments (locally and globally) to assess, recommend, prioritize and implement training solutions aligned with business needs
Based on marketing & field needs analysis, plan, prepare & execute training including product curriculum, sales meeting workshops with learning measurement - KPI’s, ultimately leading to brand technical certification and superior execution
Identify and implement best training practices
Act as the content expert and maintain learning library and relevant training documents and materials for all levels of product training from new field employees to veterans
LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT:
Lead the on-boarding training process of new representatives to accelerate time to effective performance
Work with the franchise heads and Global training team to develop a Sanofi Genzyme Selling Model Lead and deliver product training that is in line with this model and the broader brand and business initiatives
Manage and contribute to the development and implementation of a progressive Commercial Learning Platform with the ultimate goal of increasing organizational capacity, agility and performance in the area of commercial operations while enabling the development of competencies aligned with a customer-focused business model
Actively seek market insight & training gaps by planning timely field visits
Promote the development and implementation of new learning delivery channels (technology / workshops / teleconferences / mentoring / etc.) to support ongoing learning for all commercial colleagues.
Actively promote a learning culture and community that helps each other succeed through sharing of knowledge and experience
Communicate and coordinate training program implementation
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
BA/BS Degree required, preferably in life science or business. MBA a plus.
The ideal candidate will have 8 plus years of relevant pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience withat least 2 years leading national home-office based training
Ideal candidate will have experience in specialty pharmaceuticals or biologics, with a background ininfusible products, and specialty pharmacy.
Proven communication skills with a well-developed ability to efficiently and productively communicateboth verbally and in writing
Ability to influence, collaborate and interact effectively a senior leadership team and multiple keystakeholders across sales and marketing in order to align on objectives and provide consistent trainingdirection
Demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects/prioritiesincluding budgeting and actual spend against budget is required
Ensure that all training programs are consistent with, and supporting of, company legal, regulatory and compliance guidelines
25-35% national travel required
Experience in specialty care business units
Sales launch experience strongly preferred
Excellent verbal & written communication skills essential to success in this position
Strong collaboration, organizational and operations skills
- Bilingualism (French and English)
