About the Business Line

Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking a senior level Hydrogeologist to join our Ontario Geosciences Team (Hydrogeology Group), based from our office in Mississauga, Ontario. This position will support our Environment Business Line.

The Hydrogeologist will be responsible for supporting and growing operations of the Hydrogeology Group Practice Area across Ontario.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Report directly to the Hydrogeology Operations Manager, and will work collaboratively with other members of the Ontario Geosciences (Hydrogeology & Geotechnical) Team, external sub-contractors / consultants, clients, as well as Project Managers and Area Managers within other internal AECOM business lines

  • Manage projects and undertake technical work in accordance with contract scope of work and budget, and to company, professional, quality, and legislative standards

  • Participate and/or lead internal/external Business Development activities including proposal preparation and budgeting

  • Monitoring project performance vs. budgets and developing strategies for corrections

  • Identifying opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical methodologies, and add value to client service offerings

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Sales, quality, scope/budget compliance, SH&E, client satisfaction

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or Hydrogeology or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in an environmental consulting, or engineering management company

  • Currently registered with APGO (P.Geo.) and/or PEO (P.Eng.)

  • Experience with groundwater resources, hydrogeological assessments, MOECC Permit to Take Water and EASR, construction dewatering, groundwater monitoring and/or groundwater modeling

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Working consulting experience and knowledge of provincial and federal acts and policies

  • Experience developing and maintaining strong client relationships

  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Hydrogeology, Engineering or Environmental Science

  • Solid technical skills and experience

  • Established interpersonal and relationship building skills with a dedication to developing and maintaining lasting client partnerships (internally and externally)

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills

  • Experience with groundwater remediation and Environmental Site Assessment projects an asset

  • Proven strengths in becoming well integrated with a national group and collaborating in a team environment to develop, execute successful projects

  • An energetic and enthusiastic coach / mentor to junior and intermediate staff
