BDO Intermediate Accountant in Mississauga, Ontario

Position Summary

In conjunction with the manager and other team members, the Intermediate Accountant will complete accounting work on Assurance & Accounting projects. The candidate will continue to learn the basics of the profession while carrying out projects and assignments under the direct supervision of the Manager or more experienced accountants.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Second level Staff Accountant responsible for carrying out work on Assurance & Accounting assignments and projects.

  • Assurance & Accounting projects may include statutory audits, preparation of statutory accounts, company secretarial work, due diligence, capital raising and tax returns. May also attest to the accuracy of reporting within the context of the proper functioning of capital markets and regulatory bodies.

  • Applies relevant technical proficiency and knowledge acquired through assigned work, self study, participation in courses, study of current technical reports and information.

  • Builds effective working relationships with operational client contacts; responds effectively to client requests and suggestions related to an assignment.

  • Shares knowledge and experience with peers.

  • Office needs may dictate additional related duties as required.

Professional Expertise

  • Pursuing a CPA,CA designation.

  • 1-2 years of professional experience in a public accounting firm.

  • Caseware and Tax Prep software experience an asset.
