The responsibilities of a manager in this role include:

  • Coaches, mentors & leads the other members of the team from a technical perspective

  • Growing the technical knowledge & expertise of the team

  • Consults with scrum masters, product owners, program managers, development engineers in resolution of problems

  • Partners with developers for detailed technical story definition, implementation and test development & story acceptance

  • Adapts formal software QA methodologies and standard software development practices to design and construct test suites and build test environments including population of test databases

  • Provides guidance for the development and execution of software test plans using both automated and manual testing to ensure products meet design specifications and are within the specified quality standards

  • Contributes to the design and implementation of test automation strategies

  • Able to perform all testing activities as defined by the Agile/Scrum software development process

  • Applies advanced knowledge and experience to the development of new methods, programs and procedures

  • Writes test standards, procedures and functional specifications for test approaches

  • Considers multiple solutions to problems through existing and new methodologies and then exercises judgment to determine most appropriate solution

  • Participates in code / design reviews; leads in advocating software quality

  • Leverages previous experience to provide inputs to developers on resolving coding related issues identified during testing and recommend solutions for implementation


  • Bachelor degree in Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • Experience testing client-server and/or SAAS cloud-based applications

  • Demonstrates ability to conceive testing strategy and drive team to implement the strategy

  • Demonstrated experience testing n-tier applications

  • 7-10 years software testing experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment, working through all phases of the software development life cycle

  • A solid testing foundation indicated by a demonstrated understanding of product design, life cycle, software testing practices, and support services

  • Experience with agile methodologies and scrum practices, including continuous integration

  • Ability to stay current and have a passion for new technologies

  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English

  • Proven ability to convey complex ideas to others in a concise and clear manner

  • Excellent knowledge of both black-box and white-box testing
