Mackenzie Investments Director, Practice Management (Bilingual) in Montreal, Quebec

The Practice Management team at Mackenzie Investments is expanding and we are currently accepting applications for the position of Director, Practice Management. Reporting to the Assistant Vice-President, Practice Management; the Director will be responsible for developing and delivering a superior client experience with Mackenzie using Practice Management solutions. This position is located in Montreal. The successful candidates’ responsibilities will include collaborating with Financial Advisors to reach their business practice goals to enhance the relationships clients have with the Regional Sales Teams.

The individual’s core responsibilities will include:

  • Support Mackenzie sales goals by delivering practice management solutions to advisors at workshops, keynotes, professional development days, dealer events, conferences, webinars, and conference calls.

  • Align with Key Accounts Team initiatives to support Dealer Head Office practice management initiatives.

  • Assist the sales teams to identify sales opportunities and build relationships with advisors in their territories in order to increase the breadth and depth of Mackenzie distribution.

  • Engage in coaching relationships with advisors as selected by sales teams.

  • Collaborate with the Practice Management Team and provide thought leadership to assist in the development of practice management tools, materials, and other resources to be used by advisors to provide support for their businesses.

  • Author timely articles on practice management solutions to be published in the media and Mackenzie publications (blogs, social media, and videos).

The following qualifications will assist the successful candidate in carrying out these responsibilities:

  • Bilingualism (French/English) is a mandatory requirement for this role.

  • Post-secondary education (Honours Bachelor or Master’s degree)

  • Completion of Canadian Securities and/or IFIC preferred.

  • Excellent knowledge of financial services/mutual fund industry - Must be familiar with industry related issues and the needs of the various distribution channels.

  • Demonstrated coaching, leadership and facilitation skills - Must be familiar with coaching principles, concepts, techniques and competencies that assist in determining client's level of intent, commitment and action.

  • Proven customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of the critical aspects of practice management for financial advisors. (strategic business planning, segmenting, capacity and profitability, communications, marketing to existing clients, managing client expectations, branding, creating process and systems, leadership, niche marketing etc)

  • Ability and willingness to travel
