POSITION OVERVIEW This person is accountable to supervise warehouse and Material Handling personnel to effectively receive, store, supply and ship material, as well as maintaining inventory accuracy.
Promote company culture and ensure discipline to all company policies and procedures.
Supervise employees in the performance of their job.
Coordinates the training of new employees to perform all operations and to follow safety requirements.
Maintains time and attendance for all employees, as directed.
Ensures employees adhere to procedures.
Ensures 5S standards are enforced and establishes team to embrace continuous improvement.
Responsible to ensure Employee Development Plans are in place for the department, if applicable.
Responsible and accountable to manage, support and provide direction to all staff within the department – including Performance Reviews and Employee Development Plans, if applicable.
Provide communication through department meetings.
Responsible for collecting Business Center/QOS data related to the overall measurables of the unit; bench marking and analyzing these trends and establishing related action plans.
Active participation in department/company improvement activities (Employee Involvement, 5s, Mafact, TWI, etc.)
Perform daily unplanned inspections and ensures the inspection is appropriately documented.
Ensure employees perform pre-start inspections and co sign checklist to verify completion.
Perform pre-start inspections on new or modified machinery.
Manages the receipt, recording, and handling of all incoming/outbound material to any and all facilities in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
Reviews departmental procedures for improvements and recommendations.
Ensures confidentiality of all company personnel data.
Overtime and travel may be required to support achievement of objectives.
Responsible for the accident/incident investigation program, determine root causes, correct actions and following-up to ensure completion.
Correct unsafe acts or conditions, ensuring all health and safety policies are followed.
Conduct planned workplace inspections, as scheduled by the Environmental, Health and Safety Department.
Ensures visibility and accessibility to employees, by practicing Management By Walking Around (MBWA).

Post Secondary education preferred in Materials and Operations Management
Minimum 3 years leadership experience
Supervisory experience preferred.
MS Office Proficiency
Forklift Certification an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Sound Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Sound Knowledge of the Employee Standards Act
