Your Duties:

We are actively seeking a Senior Project Manager based out of our Transportation Infrastructure Group. This role could be based in Ottawa or North Bay, ON . This group provides consulting services for Class Environmental Assessment, Preliminary Design, Detail Design and Contract Administration projects for public and private sector clients, in the National Capital region, northern and eastern Ontario municipalities.

As a Senior Project Manager, your main responsibility will be the pursuit and management of transportation projects with the MTO. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Directing roadway design staff, and managing multi-disciplined project teams

  • Financial management of projects including budget forecasting, resource management, change-order management, and client invoicing

  • Developing proposals, budgets and schedules, and on-going business development and liaison with clients

  • Collaborating with Transportation Leaders and other Project Managers to identify staffing, equipment, and training requirements

  • Supporting the Stantec Quality Management System, and promoting Stantec’s Environmental Health & Safety program.

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

You are a highly motivated, registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, and have more than 10+ years’ experience in MTO Project Management and design. The ideal candidate will also have the following additional skills and qualifications:

  • Proven Project Management Experience on municipal arterial roadways

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven business development skills and interest

  • Working knowledge of relevant roadway and highway design guides, such as the MTO Geometric Design Guide for Ontario Highways, TAC Geometric Design Guide and client specific design standards

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Microsoft Project

  • Familiarity with highway and roadway design related software such as Microstation, InRoads, AutoCAD and Civil 3D

  • Experience with MTO structural projects would be considered an asset.
