Director of Financial Analysis


Capital One Canada is seeking a Director, Financial Planning and Analysis, to provide strategic advice and counsel to senior business leaders, support our business in its financial needs and be a catalyst for change. You'll lead and build a team of top talent to bring accuracy, transparency and insights to senior management with the goal of influencing the strategic direction of the business. Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage all monthly, quarterly and annual financial planning and analysis and management reporting processes for all of Capital One Canada’s business segments

  • Accountable for owning several strategic forums such as the Investment Governance Committee and Financial Performance Committee

  • Inspiring and leading the revenue and operating expense teams

  • Act as the portfolio CFO for all business segments including liaising with all key stakeholders and decision makers by owning the financial reporting of the P&L

  • Development of new financial modelling and reporting packages to bring greater transparency to business partners for the sake of leading to better strategic investment decisions, using the latest tools and techniques

  • Ongoing management, monitoring and tracking of financial targets and committed initiatives to ensure budget expectations are met

  • Driving process improvements to make reporting and planning processes as efficient as can be and diverting excess capacity to insightful analysis for our internal customers to make sound business decisions

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Director will be required to work closely with business leaders and contribute to senior management decisions. The individual must have superior interpersonal skills building sound relationships with business partners and be comfortable communicating to and influencing senior executive audiences.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business

  • MBA, CFA or CPA designation

  • At least 8 years of Financial Analysis Managerial experience in a financial services organization

  • At least 8 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Financial services industry experience

  • Proficient in Smartview/Hyperion
